The Weekly Noted | No. 1
FOR FUNSIES | What I consumed this week. Not everything, just what stuck. From fish girl summer I can't quit to PBS and Sydney Sweeney.
Welcome to the more casual corner of No Notes—the things I’d text my best girlfriend. These are the ideas, finds, and little obsessions that stuck with me this week. They’re either sitting in my house, open in my tabs, or running laps in my brain. Enjoy.
Breaking it Down
Clé De Peau Concealer
I just finished my first Clé de Peau concealer stick. When I originally bought it, I genuinely questioned my sanity—$75 for a tiny tube of beige magic?? But the buzz was deafening, and I folded like a lawn chair. Fast forward three years (yes, three), and I’m buying my second. To clarify: it doesn’t actually last three years if you use it every day. I’m more of a “twice-a-week, in case I see someone I know at Trader Joe’s” girlie. Also, my old receipt says it was $65 in 2022. #inflationClare V. Long Sleeve Tee
There’s something so effortlessly fresh about this tee. It’s giving “cool young mom who lives in Nantucket and drinks iced matcha.” The colors, the fit—it’s LAKE Pajamas adjacent without actually being pajamas.Freeda Salvador Fisherman Sandal
I actually stumbled on these while on a deep scroll of clear floral jellies (don’t ask), but these feel like their more polished, city-savvy cousin. Honestly, my heart is still with the see-through florals—they have a niche POV I respect—but the whole point of closed-toe sandals is to not broadcast your overdue pedicure. For the record, Target has a $28 dupe that looks wildly convincing.Lizzie Fortunato Mikuni Stud Earrings
I’m still deep in my fish girl summer era. Love it. Can’t get enough. Give me the fish earrings, the fish necklace, the fish-shaped purse, the fish napkin rings—I want to be mildly aquatic at all times. Honestly, toss in some Swedish Fish while you’re at it. …There’s an Ariel joke in here somewhere but I’m still fishing for it.
FISH RINGS // SHIRT // SWEATER // DRESS // BAG That said, of all the fish in the sea, these Lizzie Fortunato earrings have completely hooked me. They whisper “book that trip” in a very chic, vacation-core dialect. While you're on the site, scope out this other fin-tastic find. While you do that, I’ll be over here spiraling down a very niche Etsy fish rabbit hole.
Turtle Box Ranger Speaker
A speaker actually designed for the great outdoors. It’s waterproof, magnetic, durable... basically a rugged little box that could survive a tailgate, a downpour, or your toddler’s curious hands. The only way it could be better? If it floated and played Jimmy Buffett on command.Aurelia Demark Sea Glass Seashell Necklace
If I’m going full fish girl summer (and I am), I need seashells in the mix. Aurelia Demark is one of my favorite jewelry designers. I want my wrists to my fingertips covered in a combination of her creations—and Brent Neale’s. Speaking of fish girl summer.
Aurelia Demark Drip Drop Ring // Brent Neale Mermaid Charm (New) // Brent Neale Magic Mushroom Pendant // Aurelia Demark Coral Ribbon Ring // Aurelia Demark Aurelia Necklace State Wellington Cabana Tote
When I think STATE, my brain goes straight to kid backpacks and snack packs—not effortlessly chic poolside energy. But plot twist! This tote is giving grown-up glam with a hint of mystery. It’s technically clear, but just opaque enough to keep my chaos concealed and preserve the illusion that I do in fact have my life together. A summer miracle.J.Crew T-Shirt
Love the color, love the price, love the material. Bought it. No notes.Book: “Empresses of Seventh Aveneue” - This cover reads “ladies who lunch.” LOLZ because this is an ode to the women who built American fashion as we know it. Bought it, have it, one chapter down.
Lizzie Fortunato Blue Green Turquoise, Pink Sapphire & 14k Gold Necklace
Beads. Gems. Fish. My three-word summer memoir. Another Lizzie Fortunato piece. I did some deep (some might say obsessive) scrolling during their archive sale, and this piece jumped out at me. It’s like summer camp jewelry—but with a trust fund and a passport.
More Consumables
Podcast with Mark Cuban and Emma Grede - Big fan of Mark Cuban. While this conversation could have been cut in half, I stayed with it because Mark’s energy and golden nuggets are 🤌. My biggest takeaway was the need to dive deep into AI to get a competitive advantage—in any field you’re in. 🤖
The Stick TV Series - Owen Wilson’s best role yet. An endearing has-been golfer taken down by grief gets his spark back after encountering a prodigy. Notes of Ted Lasso and Jerry McGuire. Very good. Not surprised it was just renewed for a second season. ⛳️
American Eagle’s partnership with Sydney Sweeney - Who knew Sydney Sweeney’s favorite jeans were American Eagle?!?…The brand’s most expensive campaign to-date is already paying off, with its stock skyrocketing after the announcement. I’ll be watching this one with popcorn. 🍿
PBS’s Arthur Fist Meme in Response to Federal Funding - So many notes on this one. I highly recommend reading Rachel Karten’s interview with Cathleen Cusachs, who is behind the @ArthurPBS account. 📺
Last week, I published my first post. Join my mom, husband, and brother—aka my entire PR team—in reading about the 30 miles I walked in place like a very determined hamster with a Wi-Fi connection.
